Color guide · Red

what does a red aura mean?

you run on instinct. you don't wait to be told what's yours — you take it.

red is the action band. when red dominates your read, the lens is picking up warmth, presence, and the long-wave end of the visible spectrum. the brand-voice translation: you're not at rest.

red over-indexes in operators, athletes, founders, and the kind of person who walks into a room and the room recalibrates. you make decisions fast. you'd rather be wrong and moving than right and stalled. the camera is reading that.

the shadow of red is impulsivity. the same band that gets things done also gets things done before you've decided whether they should be done. people with red dominant reads tend to learn this once or twice, then build the habit of waiting two breaths before acting.

red doesn't stay red. it cools into orange under social warmth, into yellow under intellectual stimulation, into green when you're caring for someone. if you refract red three days in a row, take note — something in your environment is asking for action.

who tends to refract red

  • the first person to jump in the pool
  • founders building full-time with no fallback
  • athletes mid-season
  • people who close their own deals
  • anyone the room reorganizes around
red auras don't ask. they take.

when red shows up

warm lighting (kitchens at golden hour, candlelit dinners, sunset). before big decisions, after big wins. when wearing warm-toned clothes. evenings often surface red even in people whose dominant band is normally cooler.

working with red

balance with cool bands. blue and cyan cool red without dampening it. surround yourself with depth-band thinkers when red is doing the deciding. take a beat before acting if you've refracted red two days running — that's the band asking you to channel, not just expend.

the other six bands

your aura is rarely a single band — it's usually a dominant color blended with one or two others. each band carries its own frequency.

common questions

Is a red aura good?

every band is. red just means you're in motion. whether that's good depends on what you're moving toward.

What does a red aura mean spiritually?

we don't read spirit, we read light. red means the dominant wavelength coming off you is in the long-wave end of the visible spectrum. interpret what that means for you however suits you.

How rare is a red aura?

we see red as the dominant band in roughly 14% of reads. cyan and violet are slightly more common in our dataset.

Can my aura change from red to something else?

constantly. that's the point. refract in a different room or at a different time of day and you'll likely see a different band. red is a state, not a sentence.

read your own light.

refract once, in whatever light you're in right now. it takes ten seconds and it's free.
